follows :-

Berson carr~•iug oII pett~° trades, or ~~-ho go from pltace to
place. or to other meus houses, on foot, or ~R~ith a,n}• a•ni-
Iua~l bearing or drawing anj~ goods, wares, or merchan-
dise for sale, or in or with au~~ boat, ~•essel or other
craft, or otherwise carr~~ing goods, wares or ulerchamlise
fur sale within the United Coulrt~ies oP Nurt,hunibel laa~d
and llurham, shall before exercising such calling, ta~kc
suit a. license therefor.
Provided a~l~~<I~~s that no such license shall he rcyuired
fur hawkm~, peddling, or selling ]'rural a,n~~ ~-rhicle ur
other coll~c~•a~uce an~• hood,, ~t-aies or nierchaudise, the
rowGh, produce ur manu]'acture of this Province, not
being liquors within the meaning of tJie lane relating to
txa-erns ur tavern licenses, it the saute rare being hawked
or peddled by the maaaufa.c,turer rn• producer of the goods
~~~a~res oI merchandise; or b~• firs bona. fide servants
or eulplo~ ees having writ e^ authorit}• in that behalf'
