Minutes of a reconvened special meeting of the
General Purpose and Administration Committee
held on Monday, March 8, 1993 at 1:30 p.m.
in Meeting Room #1.
ROLL CALL

Director of Community Services, J. Caruana (Attended the meeting at
2:00 p.m.)
Treasurer, M. Marano
Town Clerk, P. Barrie
Councillor O'Toole chaired the meeting.
Kathy Dennis, Treasurer and Donna Robins, Chairman, Clarke Museum
Board were in attendance to present the Museum's 1993 budget submissions
to the Committee.

THAT Report CS-04-93 be received;
THAT Council consider all requests during current budget deliberations; and
THAT all applicants be advised of Council's decision_

allow for a meeting to be held between the Hall Board and the Community
Services Department; and
THAT $15,000 be set aside for consideration following such meeting.

THAT Report CS-04-93 be referred for further discussion following
consideration ofthe Newcastle Public Library Board's budget.

Bev Wakefield, Erla Jose and Barbara Baker were in attendance to present
the Library Board's 1993 budget submission.
Resolution #GPA-138-93
Moved by Mayor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Dreslioski
THAT the Newcastle Public Library Board's 1993 budget submission be
amended as follows:
1. THAT $65,033 be deleted from the Current Budget - Special Project
Requirements related to the West Area Branch;
2. THAT $5,000 (approved in 1992) for the drop-box for the West Area
Branch be reallocated;
3. THAT $50,000 for the Site Selection Study be deleted; and
4. THAT the Site Selection Study be referred to the OffICial Plan
discussions.

Heritage Week Committee, conditional upon no future funding requests being
