March 16, 1987
Minutes of a special meeting of Council
held on Monday, March 16, 1987, at
4:00 p.m., in Court Room #2.
Present Were: Mayor J. Winters
Councillor D. Hamre
Councillor H. McKnight
Councillor F. Stapleton
Councillor A. Wotten
Absent: Councillor A. Cowman
Councillor M. Hubbard
Also Present: Chief Administrative L. Kotseff
Town Clerk, D. W. Oakes
Deputy Clerk, R. Rutledge
The purpose of the special meeting of Council is to receive
and consider Clerk's Report CD-17-87, respecting an
application for a Special Event Licence CHOO CHILI WEEKEND,
May 22nd to 24th 1987 inclusive.

Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Wotten
THAT Council deal with the subject application at this time.

Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Stapleton
1. That Clerk's Report CD-17-87 be received; and
2. That the Application by Radio Station CHOO for approval of
a licence to hold a Special Event in the Town of Newcastle
be approved subject to the following conditions:
(a) That a policy of insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00
naming the municipality as the insured and covering the
municipality for public liability and property damage,
including claims of area property owners arising out of
the holding of the event be provided;
(b) That the licence fees applicable to the event in the
amount of $300.00 be paid;
(c) That Mrs. Braid provide evidence of the circulation of
a notice of the holding of the event to area residents
pursuant to the requirements of By-law 86-108;

3. That when the conditions noted in recommendation number 2
are satisfied, that Council proclaim the weekend of
May 22 to 24, 1987, as CHOO CHILI WEEKEND in the Town
of Newcastle.
