Barrie Resolution #c-674-93 Moved by Councillor Novak, seconded by Councillor Scott THAT the minutes of a regular meeting of Council held on September 27, 1993 and the minutes of a special meeting of Council held on October 4, 1993, be approved. "CARRIEDII Mr. Ronald K Webb, Davis, Webb & Schulze, Brampton Executive Centre, 8 Nelson Street, Suite 600, Brampton, L6X 4J2, was called but was not present. Messrs. Steve and Chris Green, Jones Avenue, Newtonville, LOA lJO, were present but advised that they did not wish to address Council. Mr. Scott Mullan, 4478 Hill Street, Newtonville, LOA lJO, advised Council that he and some of his friends have been dirt biking approximately eight years in a vacant field on Jones Avenue, Newtonville, and, until recently, have not received any complaints. He does not understand the problem as they only bike during daylight hours and the majority of the neighbours do not have any objection to this. Mr. Derek Arnold, 4433 Hill Street, Newtonville, LOA IJO, advised Council that he did not wish to speak at this time. . . . Council Minutes DELEGATIONS - 2- October 12, 1993 Mr. Jason O'Donnell, 21 Jones Avenue, Newtonville, LOA lJO, reiterated the comments made by Scott Mullan and indicated that a petition had been circulated to neighbours in the area which everyone, including the complainants, signed stating that they do not have a problem with the dirt bikes. He requested that Council amend the Noise By-law to allow for dirt bikes to operate at certain times of the day. Mrs. Karen O'Donnell, 21 Jones Avenue, Newtonville, LOA lJO, concurred with the comments made by Jason O'Donnell and requested that Council amend the by-law to allow for individuals to operate their dirt bikes during certain hours of the day. IlCARRIED" Resolution #C-676-93 Moved by Councillor Dreslinski, seconded by Councillor Hannah THAT the meeting be "In Camera" to hear the delegation of Mrs. Bonita Cunningham at this time. "CARRIED" The delegation of Mrs. Bonita Cunningham was heard during the "In Camera" session. Mrs. Diana Williamson, President, Courtice Artistic Projects, 89 Devondale Street, Courtice, advised Council that the non-profit organization, consisting of approximately 100 volunteers, has now completed its Christmas AIbum Project entitled "Oranges and Tea" and that the project is ready for distribution in the Greater Toronto Area She presented a copy of the C.D. to Mayor Hamre and introduced Mrs. Adele Simmons, composer of the song, "Quiet Time" which she performed for Council. Council Minutes COMMUNICATIONS D -10 Mosport Park Municipal Clearance re: Liquor Licence MOTION MOTICE OF MOTION - 7- October 12, 1993 Resolution #C-692-93 Moved by Councillor Dreslinski, seconded by Councillor O'Toole THAT the correspondence dated August 31,1993, from Bernard J. Kamin, requesting the municipality to complete and return to the Liquor Licensing Board of Ontario, a request for Municipal Clearance be received; THAT the Clerk be authorized to sign the appropriate documentation and forward it to the Liquor Licensing Board of Ontario; and THAT Bernard Kamin be advised of Council's decision. THAT effective October 13, 1993, in addition to her responsibilities as Treasurer of the municipality, Marie A. Marano be appointed Acting Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality; and 2. THAT there be no salary acljustment until January 1994, in accordance with budget discussions. THAT the Technical Advisory Committee continue to pursue an appropriate partnership and initiate discussions with the Northumberland and Clarington Board of Education with regard to the possibility of shared facilities; 2. THAT staff proceed with the appropriate action as it pertains to acquiring any possible grants or funding related to the Courtice Community Centre Project; and 3.
