THAT the General Purpose and Administration Committee Report of
May 3, 1993, be approved with the exception of Item #9.

Councillor Novak made a declaration of interest with respect to Item #9 of
Report #1 and refrained from discussion and voting on the subject matter.
Councillor Novak indicated that she resides in close proximity to one of the
sites noted in Report PD-77 -93.

THAT Report PD-77-93 be received;
THAT the comments contained in Report PD-77-93 be endorsed as Council's
position on the Ministry of Municipal Affairs Post-Circulation Comments on the

and local stsff to resolve the outstanding issues including but not limited to
population projections, density and intensification, phasing and urban boundary
expansions, subwatershed planning, aggregate policies and rural settlements;

THAT a copy of Report PD-77-93 be forwarded to the Region of Durham

THAT the foregoing Resolution #C-361-93 be amended as follows:
a) THAT paragraph 2 be amended by adding the following:
"with the exception that the Town objects to modifications #37 and
#38 to the Durham Regional Official Plan since Section 5.2.5 contained
in the 1991 Durham Regional Official Plan submitted to the Province is
appropriate without the need for the modifications"; and

Report TR-32-93; and
THAT Council provide direction to proceed with either Option A or Option B
as described below:
Option A _ Place one advertisement in local area newspapers in the fall for
the following budget year grant requests.
Option B - (i) Mail application forms in the fall to current grant recipients
and inform these groups that no advertisements will be placed
for the purposes of 1994 and future grant programs.
