THAT the minutes of a regular meeting of Council held on September 16,
1991, be approved

Mr. Dan Stacheruk, Great Pineridge Kinsmen Club, advised Council that in
recognition of the outstanding service provided by the Town of Newcastle
Fire Department, the Great Pineridge Kinsmen Club is proud to sponsor the
Buddy Bear Program. He stated that each fire truck will carry two buddy
bears at all times which will be given to children in traumatic situations.
AI Strike, 38 King Street West, Bowmanville, LIC lR2, thanked Council and
staff of the Town of Newcastle for their co-operation with the Business
Improvement Area in effecting the CAUSE (Community Assistance Urban
Study Effort) Study Report. Mr. Strike presented the CAUSE Report to the
Town Clerk.

and advised of Council's decision; and
THAT Mr. AI Strike be thanked for his work and commitment to the
CAUSE Program.

LIC 3K5, advised Council of a walk-a-thon which the school is organizing for
October 5, 1991. The walk will commence at Concession 7 in the area of
Tyrone and end at St. Stephen's High School. All proceeds from the
walk-a-thon will be donated to the United Way.
Council was advised that Mr. and Mrs. William Kraayvanger, Box 20021,
Newcastle Postal Outlet, Newcastle, LIB 1M3, would not be in attendance to
make their presentation.

WHEREAS by its decision dated September 12, 1991, the Ontario Municipal
Board repealed By-law 90-115, which was intended to permit Stuart and
Jean Wood to continue to use part of their farm in connection with their
trucking business; and
WHEREAS the effect and implications of this decision to repeal By-law
90-115 should be explored in detail by the Town and appropriate action
taken;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIT.. OF THE
CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE:
1. THAT the Ontario Municipal Board decision in the matter of appeals
against Zoning By-law 90-115 of the Town of Newcastle be received;
2.
THAT Council direct Town Staff not to enforce the provisions of the
Zoning By-law against the Woods until Council has received and had
the opportunity of considering a report from Town Staff regarding
the effect and implications of the decision of the Ontario Municipal
Board to repeal By-law 90-115 and has determined what course of
action should be followed; and
