Minutes of a special meeting of Council
held on Monday, July 24, 1989, at 6:00 p.m.,
in Meeting Room il

Also Present: Chief Administrative Officer, L. Kotseff
Treasurer, M. Marano
TOwn Clerk, P. Barrie
Marie Marano, Treasurer, introduced Mr. Laurie Martin, Deloitte,
Haskins & Sells, who gave a brief overview of the 1988
Consolidated Financial Report. He briefly described the notes
to the Consolidated Financial Statement, and explained that all
increases are due to the large increase in size of the
municipality. Mr. Martin indicated that the municipality is in
a very healthy situation.

1988 Audit Report Moved by Councillor Deegan, seconded by Councillor Hamre

Management Letter THAT Report TR-68-89 be received;

THAT the financial statements for the year ended December 31,
1988, be adopted; and
THAT recommendations contained in the management letter be
reviewed by staff and addressed appropriately.

THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law 89-139,
being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the COuncil
of the 'IbWn of Newcastle, at this special meeting held on
the 24th day of July 1989, and that the said by-law be
now read a first time.
