DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
There were no declarations of interest stated for this meeting.
Mayor Hamre advised Council that the special meeting had been called to discuss
the impact of the Provincial Budget cuts announced November 29, 1995.
The Chief Administrative Officer advised that the Provincial cuts affect the
Municipality by between 5% and 6% in 1996 and approximately 5% in 1997.
Discussion ensued pertaining to the construction of the Courtice Community
Complex and the proposed Seniors' Centre.

THAT the meeting be "In Camera" in order to discuss legal ramifications
pertaining to the construction of the Courtice Community Complex.

CONFIRMING BY-LAW

December 4, 1995
Resolution #C-864-95
Moved by Councillor Dreslinski, seconded by Councillor Elliott
THAT the subject of construction of the Courtice Community Complex be tabled;
and
THAT staff be directed to research the issue of space allocation at the complex,
user fees and privatization and report various options to Council for their review
FORTHWITH.

THAT all Department Heads proceed immediately to research and report
to Council on ways of addressing the Provincial grant cutbacks announced on
November 29, 1995.

Resolution #C-866-95
Moved by Councillor Hannah, seconded by Councillor Elliott
THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law 95-169, being a by-law to confirm the
proceedings of the Council of the Municipality of Clarington at this special
meeting held on December 4, 1995, and that the said by-law be now read a first
and second time.
