Minutes of a special meeting of Council
held on Monday, July 10, 1995, at
7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers

The special meeting was called for the purpose of filling the vacancy on
Clarington Council for Ward 2 and Regional Council.
The Clerk advised of the procedures to be followed, as set out in the Municipal
Act. She further advised that the order of addressing the Council would be
determined by "Iot".
Each applicant was provided five minutes to address Council and, with the
exception of two, all applicants exercised that opportunity, in the following order:

THAT nominations be closed.

Moved by Councillor Hannah, seconded by Councillor Pingle
THAT Carson Elliott be appointed to fill the vacant seats on Clarington Council
for Ward 2 and Regional Council.

Moved by Councillor Hannah, seconded by Councillor Dreslinski
THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law 95-98, being a by-law to appoint
Carson Elliott as the successor of Councillor John O'Toole as a member of the
Clarington Council for Ward 2 and a member of the Regional Council, and that
the said by-law be now read a first and second time.

THAT the third and final reading of By-law 95-98 be approved.

THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law 95-99, being a by-law to confirm the
proceedings of the Council of the Municipality of Clarington at this meeting held
on the 10th day of July 1995, and that the said by-law be now read a first and
second time.
