Mayor Hamre welcomed the 4th Bowmanville Beavers who were in attendance
at the Council Meeting.

THAT the minutes of a regular meeting of Council held on April 25, 1994, be
approved.

Ms. Evylin Stroud, 89 Little Avenue, Bowmanville, L1C 1J9 and
Ms. Wendy Boothman, addressed Council with respect to the 1994
Environment Fair. They advised that the fair, which this year is a joint
venture between Oshawa and C1arington, will be held on Saturday, May 14,
1994, at the Jubilee Pavilion, Lakeview Park, Oshawa, and extended an
invitation to Members of Council and Staff.

Ms. Wendy Maynard, Chairperson of Social Conw1ittee, Bowmanville Valley
Co-operative Homes Inc., addressed Council with respect to holding a street
dance following the Official Grand Opening for Bowmanville Valley
Co-operative Homes Inc.
Councillor Novak made a dec1aration of interest with respect to
Correspondence Item I - 8 and refrained from discussion and voting on the
subject matter. Councillor Novak indicated that Detox Environmental Limited
is a client of the fIrm she is employed by.

THAT the correspondence dated April 11, 1994, from Moira Rosser, Waste
Reduction Week and Commw1ity Outreach Coordinator, Recycling Council of
Ontario, requesting the proclamation of Waste Reduction Week be received for
information.

THAT the foregoing Resolution #C-297-94 be amended by adding the following

"THAT the week of October 17 - 23, 1994 be proclaimed 'Waste
Reduction Week' in the Municipality of C1arington and advertised in
accordance with Municipal Policy;
THAT the correspondence be referred to the Director of Public Works
for preparation of a report to be submitted to the General Purpose
and Administration Committee regarding the appointment of a Waste
Reduction Co-ordination Team; and
THAT Moira Rosser be advised of Council's decision."

asphalt plant, be received;

Devitt's Royal Black Preceptory #398 requesting permission to use the Orono
cenotaph on August 13, 1994 in conjunction with the Derry Day Parade in
order to hold a memorial service and lay a wreath in remembrance of all those
who gave their lives for our freedom, be received;

94-73 being a by-law to authorize the release of an Agreement with
Kingsberry Properties and the Corporation of the Mw1icipality of
C1arington for the development of Plan of Subdivision 10M -834;
and
94-74 being a by-law to amend By-law 91-201, as amended, a by-law to
establish the Members of Council as Chairmen of Departments and
to establish the Order of Proceedings at the General Purpose and

commw1ity organizations and service clubs to participate in C1arington
Clean-Up Week;
AND WHEREAS the Mw1icipality of C1arington is prepared to schedule special
collections and dispose of all refuse collected:
NOW THEREFORE, I Diane Hamre, the Mayor of the Municipality of
C1arington, declare the week of May 22 to May 28, 1994, as C1arington
