Minutes of a meeting of the Striking
Committee held on Monday, January 14, 1991,
at 12:35 p.m. in the Council Anteroom

Mayor Hubbard chaired the meeting.
MINUTES
Resolution #SC-1-91
Moved by Councillor Wotten, seconded by Councillor Deegan
THAT the minutes of meetings of the Striking Committee held on
July 23, 1990, November 30, 1990, January 7, 1991 and January 11, 1991 be
approved.

Councillor Wotten made a declaration of interest with respect to the
appointment of Fence Viewers; vacated his chair and refrained from
discussion and voting on the subject matter. Councillor Wotten has applied
for appointment as a Fence Viewer.

THAT a by-law be forwarded to Council for approval appointing the
following individuals as Fence Viewers for a term ending November 30, 1991;

Maurice O'Neill, 2675 Reid Road, R.R. #1, Newtonville, LOA 1JO
Arnot Wotten, R.R. #1, Hampton, LOB 1JO

Councillor Wotten made a declaration of interest with respect to the
appointment of Livestock Valuers; vacated his chair and refrained from
discussion and voting on the subject matter. Councillor Wotten has applied
for appointment as a Livestock Valuer.

Services Advisory Board - Ward 3 - for a term ending December 31, 1993.

Lions Centre Moved by Councillor Deegan, seconded by Councillor Wotten
Board of
Management THAT the Striking Committee recommend to Council the appointment of
Tom Rehder, 5 Beech Avenue, Bowmanville, LIC 1Z9, to fill the vacancy left
by the resignation of Dieter Wunderlich on the Lions Community Centre
Hall Board of Management for a term ending November 30, 1991; and
THAT Tom Rehder and Wally Heinbuch, Officer, Lions Community Centre
Hall Board of Management, be advised of Council's decision.

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 91-13
being a by-law to appoint Valuers of
Livestock and Poultry for the Town of
Newcastle
WHEREAS Section 11(1) of the Dog Licensing and Livestock Act,
provides that "the Council of every local municipality shall
appoint one or more persons as Valuers of Livestock and Poultry;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
NEWCASTLE HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the following persons are hereby appointed as Valuers
of Livestock and Poultry for a term expiring November 30,
1991:
Syd Worden, R.R. #2 Bowmanville, L1C 3K3
Arnot Wotten, R.R. #11 Hampton, LOB 1JO
2. THAT the remuneration be set in accordance with the budget
allocations approved by Council for this purpose.

BY-LAW 91-15
being a By-law to appoint Members to the
Game Commission in the Town of Newcastle
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the following persons are hereby appointed as Members of
the Game Commission .for a term expiring November 30, 1991.

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 91-17
being a by-law to amend By-law 88-186, a by-law
to appoint the Members of the Newcastle Public
Library Board and to repeal By-law 90-61
WHEREAS Section 9(1) of the Public Libraries Act, 1984, provides
that a public library board for a municipality whose population
is less than 100,000, shall be composed of at least five (5) and
no more than nine (9) members appointed by the Municipal Council;
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the requirements of the Public Libraries
Act, 1984, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle enacted By-law Number 85-85, establishing the
composition of the Newcastle Public Library Board;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE HEREBY ENACTS
AS FOLLOWS:
THAT By-law 88-186 be amended by adding thereto the name of Maria
Kordas-Fraser as being appointed to the Newcastle Public Library
Board to represent the Peterborough-Victoria-Northumberland and
Newcastle Roman Catholic Separate School Board.
