Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:®
The following is a report of a meeting of the Finance Committee held on May 17,
1976:
1. Newcastle Community Hall Repairs
It was recommended to Council that they concur with the letter of Totten Sims
Hsbicki Associaties that the sum of $7,140. be approved for the balance of the
repairs to the roof of the Newcastle Community Hall.
2. Accounts and Mileage Claims
It was recommended to Council that the list of accounts, evIuding the addendum,
and the list of mileage claims, as presented by the Treasurer, be approved for
payment.
3. Addendum of Accounts
It was recommended to Council that the Addendum of Accounts as presented by
the Treasurer, be approved for payment.
4. Lot Levies
It was recommended to Council that the Treasurer's report regarding Reserve
for Subdivision (Lot Levies) be received for information.
5. Recovery of Overpayment of Salaries
It was recommended to Council that the Treasurer be authorized to recover the
overpayment of salaries made in 1974.
6. Next Meeting
It was recommended to Council that the regular Finance Committee Meeting of
May 24, 1976, be cancelled.
7. Big Brothers
It was recommended to Council that the sum of $150. be granted to the Big
Brothers Association.
8. Invoice - Greenspan & Vaughan
It was recommended to Council that the Invoice from Greenspan and Vaughan be
paid.

The following is a report of a meeting of the Finance Committee held on May 10, 1976:
1. Water and Sewage Deficits and Surpluses
v It was recommended to Council that the following recommendations of the Treasurer
.� regarding disposition of Water and Sewage surpluses and deficits, be adopted:
ZT T the Region return the money paid, namely $298,463. plus bank interest
T the Region recover all deficits both from water and sewer by means of a surcharge
,1'iM ` on the water bill.
THAT the Region apply any surpluses and/or reserves both for water and sewer to
reduce the costs.
2. Councillors and Firemen's Accident Policies
It was recommended to Council that Fzank Cowan Co. Ltd. , be authorized to re-issue
General Accident Councillors' Accident Policy #67F-1925 and General Accident
Firemen's Accident Policy #67F-1926 effective May 6, 1976.
