Minutes of a meeting of the Finance Committee held
in the Committee Room at the Bowmanville Town Hall
on Friday, April 2r.d, 1976 at 2:00 p.m.
Roll Present were: Councillor Donald W. Allin, Member
Call Councillor Kirk Entwisle, Member
Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs, Member
Councillor H. Bruce Tink, Member
Mayor Garnet B. Rickard, Member
Town Clerk J.M. Mcllroy, Secretary
Acting J.F. Descent, Treasurer
Chairman Mayor G.B. Rickard was appointed ppointed Acting Chairman.

Regional THAT the Region Public Works Department be advised that no
Sewer & name be painted on the Bowmanville Water Tower at a saving
Water Local of $2,000 (estimated).

THAT the Region Public Works Department be advised that,
from the point of view of residents of Orono, the installation
of water meters is not necessary and this expenditure be
deleted at an estimated saving of $8,200 in 1976.

THAT Regional Public Works Department be advised that the
entire Local Surcharge Programme for 1976 for the Town of
Newcastle be not approved.

Mayor Rickard requested the notation that he was opposed to
this Resolution as it had already been agreed with the
representatives of Orono Hydro Electric Commission that the
hydrant be installed and also Region had previously been
requested to paint the name on the Bowmanville Water Tank.

The Planner, Mr. Howden was present during the discussion
of the Planning w'udget.

Adjustment Adjustment fees be raised to $50.00 per application.

Meeting THAT the meeting with the Minister of Housing, Staff and
with Minister Planning Advisory Committee on April 12th, 1976 be in
of Housing camera, and that Mr. Walter Beath, the Regional Chairman and
Mr. Clarke Mason, Chairman of the Regional Planning and
Development Committee be invited.

Library TIiAT the Library Board be approved on the basis of a per
Budget capita grant of $2.80 with the Library Board being
responsible for the payment of Debt Charges and Building

Orono THAT tentative approval be given to the $8,000 grant to
Fair the Fair Board on the understanding that the Orono Athletic
Club have the use of the Arena in Winter.

Dumping The matter of the Regional bills for dumping of refuse
Charges was discussed at length and deferred to the next meeting.

R Vewe THAT the Budget of estimated revenues be given tentative
Budget approval.

Fire THAT the Fire Chief revise his budget to reflect a total
Protection of $170,000 including debt charges of $9,200.
