Finance Committee February 28, 1975.
Minutes of a meeting of the Finance Committee held on
February 28, 1975, in the Bowmanville Committee Room
at 10.00 a.m.
Present were:
Con. H. B. Tink, Chairman
Con. K. Entwisle, Member
Con. 'I.M. Hobbs, Member
Con. A. D. Wearn, Member
_Insurance Tendering_ In accordance with Res. F-74-75, the Committee met with
Mr. H. E. Hartley, Insurance Consultant regarding the
tendering of. the Town's Insurance coverage.
Resolution #F-76-75
Moved by Con. Entwisle, seconded by Con. Wearn
THAT Mr. Harley be engaged at a fee of $4,000. to carry out
the tendering of the Town's Insurance coverage in accordance
with the Treasurer's report.

Moved by Con.Entwisle, seconded by Con. Hobbs
Opening Balances THAT the following recommendation of the Treasurer be
of All Community concurred with.
Committees or
Associations "I have had a discussion with the auditors as to the best
Sec. 148, Bill 162 method of reporting these balances on our statement and it
Region of Durham is agreed by Messrs. Deloitte Haskins and Sells, Mr. McIlroy
and myself that these should be shown as part of the surpluses
being brought into the New Municipality.
Then in 1974, they would be shown as grants to the Committee
or Association to put the Bank Balances back into the hands
of the Boards or Committees. It is, in essence, a
bookkeeping entry".

Amounts THAT advances to Boardsand Committees, from the Town,
owing by be shown as accounts Payable on the Boards and Committees
Boards Financial Statements and as Accounts Receivable on the Town's
Financial Statements as of December 31, 1974.
