Fire Building at 1:00 p.m. on July 8th, 1974. Present: Councillor H. Bruce Tink, Chairman Councillor. Donald W. Allin, Member Councillor Kirl: Entwisle, Member, at 1:05 p.m. Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs, Member Councillor Kenneth E. Lyall, Member Councillor. A. D. Wearn, Member at 1:20 p.m. Mayor G. B. Rickard, Member, at 2:00 p.m. Mr. J. F. Descent, Treasurer Mr. J. M. Approval THAT the minutes of meetings held on June 20th, June 25th, of Minutes July 3rd and July 4th, 1974, be approved as printed. I "CARRIED" DtAngelo Mr. C.L. Warren, the Chief Building Inspector, appeared Homes before the Committee. He advised that the discrepency in the D?Angelo built houses as reported to Council at the last meeting had been rectified. Consumerst THAT it be recommended to Council that the request of Gas Company the Consumers' Gas Company for a Franchise for the whole Franchise Town of Newcastle be not considered until the "Witherly Case" has been resolved in the courts. Allin, Duties of THAT it be recommended to Council that the Resolution Crossing of the Regional. Municipality of Peel be supported as long Guards as the proposed legislation does not entail the owo wring in of crossing guards or appointing them as Peace Officers. "CARRIED" Resolution #F-443-74. Fees for THAT it be recommended to Council that the scale of Installation fees for installation of sceptic tanks as recommended of Sceptic by the Regional Health Unit be concurred with. THAT it be recommended to Council that the calculations Road of Roads Subsidies submitted by the Ministry of Subsidies Transportation and Communications and approved by the Public Works Cormittee be concurred with. Lyall, Grant to THAT it be recoinended to Council that the grant of Durham Central $1,400 to the Durham Central Agricultural Society, Agricultural be paid. Society 11CARRIED11 Resolution #F-447-74 Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Entwisle. Bond $5,000 THAT it be recommended to Council that the bond of Home Smith $5,000 deposited by Home Smith Properties Ltd., Subdivision relative to building of five model homes in the former Township of Clarke, be refunded as long as the approval in writing of the Consulting Engineers and Health Unit is given. Lottery THAT Councillors Wearn and Allin be asked to look re into the matter. of Club or Group to organise a Arena lottery to raise funds to defray the cost of the new II mpton Arena and report to a future meeting. Rates Increase Community THAT it be recommended to Council that the letter Telephone Co. from the Community Telephone Company of Ontario of Ontario Ltd. regarding rate increase be received for information and a copy sent to the Orono Chamber of Commerce. "CARRIED" Resolution 0. 450-74 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Cone Entwisle. Business THAT it be recommended to Council that Senior Municipal Cards Officials be authorised to have business cards. Unsafe THAT the Clerk and By-LaW Enforcement Officer prepare Buildings a by-law relative to the demolition of unsafe buildings. Auctioneerts THAT it be recommended to Council that the verbal Licences report of the Clerk relative to Auctioneer's Licences be adopted and a by-law presented to the next meeting of Council.
