BACKGROUND 1 .1 Our report covers the month of December, 1996. It is our intent to provide Committee with information relevant to this department, in a timely manner. 2. REPORT 2.1 The department responded to 143 calls in December and recorded total fire loss at $10,600.00. A breakdown of the calls responded to follows. REPORT 2.1 The number of calls for the year increased by 16 percent over the previous year. The actual dollar loss for the year was down due to that fact that there were no major structure fires. 2.2 Fire department responses have increased between ten and fifteen percent each year over the last four years. It is staff's belief that given the continued growth in the Municipality the number of calls will continue to climb. Continued..... 992 FD-2-97 - 3 - 3. 3 -3.
