BACKGROUND 1.1 Our report covers the month of October, 1995. It is our intent to provide Committee with information relevant to this department, in a timely manner. 2. REPORT 2.1 The department responded to 108 calls in October and recorded total fire loss at $114,270. A breakdown of the calls responded to follows. Open House was held at Headquarters Station 1 and Courtice Station 4. Several school groups toured the stations. Many favourable comments were received about the new headquarters station from area residents. A colouring contest was held in conjunction with The Canadian Tire Store in Bowmanville. Approximately 800 entries were received. Three prizes were offered by Canadian Tire, a bicycle, roller blades and a walkman radio. The lucky winners were Christopher Cleland, Joshua Terry and Courtney Bruce. Continued..... 802 FD 17-95 - 3 - 2.3 3 -2.3 Clarington Fire Department was invited to display our Fire Safety House at the annual Fire Prevention Officers' Seminar, held at the Ontario Fire College. Randy Reinert attended the seminar with the Fire Safety House demonstrating the attributes of activity based learning. Many favourable responses were received from the attendees at the seminar. 3.
