Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report CD-40-94 be received;
2 . THAT the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute the
appropriate by-laws;
3 . THAT the Clerk be authorized to carry out all actions
necessary to complete the process of property designation
pursuant to the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S .O. 1990, C. 0 . 18 and
detailed within Report CD-40-94 ; and
4 . THAT Mr. and Mrs . Price, Mr. and Mrs . Lee, Mr. and Mrs .
Crashley and Mrs . D. Grandfield, Local Architectural
Conservation Advisory Committee and the Ontario Heritage
Foundation, be advised of Council' s decision.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On June 13 , 1994, Council adopted the recommendations contained in
Report PD-61-94, which authorized the Clerk to proceed with the
designations of the subject properties .
The required documentation has recently been received so it is now
appropriate to proceed with the designations of the subject
properties . The following actions have been completed in
accordance with the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S .O. 1990 .
1 . The property owners were requested to signify, in writing,
that they were prepared to undertake the designation of their
properties . The consent forms have now been executed.

2 . Notice of Intention to Designate was forwarded to the owners
of the properties and to the Ontario Heritage Foundation by
Registered Mail on June 20, 1994 . The Notice was published in
the local newspapers, once each week for three successive
weeks - June 22, June 29 and July 6 . The period for filing
objections to the proposed designations ended on July 21,
1994 . No objections were received in this time period.
3 . By-laws to designate the properties pursuant to the Ontario
Heritage Act, R. S .O. 1990, will be presented to Council on
September 26, 1994 .
It is appropriate that the following actions now be undertaken:
1 . THAT the by-laws to designate the properties be forwarded to
Council for passage;
2 . THAT the Clerk be authorized to publish Notices of Designation
in the newspapers and forward a certified copy of the by-laws
to the property owners and to the Ontario Heritage Foundation;
3 . THAT a copy of the by-laws designating the properties be
forwarded to the Town' s Solicitor for registration on title so
that future owners and anyone else who may be interested in
the properties will be aware of the fact that they have been
designated; and
4 . THAT the property owners and the Local Architectural
Conservation Advisory Committee be advised that the properties
have been designated.
