East, Bowmanville, L1C 1N2, appeared before Council on behalf of Mr. and
Mrs. Terry Mason, requesting that Mr. and Mrs. Mason be granted a one
year grace period to relocate their Auto Engine Repair business now located
in Lot 19, Concession 2, former Township of Darlington (See Correspondence
Item D - 9).

THAT the correspondence dated November 23, 1990, from Barbara Baker,
Secretary-Treasurer, Newcastle Public Library Board, with respect to the
Town's furniture formerly used by the Library be tabled to allow staff the
opportunity to prepare a policy regarding historical furniture and Town
owned documents FORTHWITH;
THAT a subsequent report be forwarded to the General Purpose and
Administration Committee; and
THAT Barhara Baker be advised of Council's decision.

received; and
THAT Brian Suter be advised that Council has no objection to the holding of
a draw in the Town of Newcastle by the Canadian Foresters Eastern Ontario
on April 27, 1991.

endorsation of a resolution passed by the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Whitby, in opposition to the Commercial Concentration Tax Act,
1989 be received;

business, be received;
THAT Council grant Mr. and Mrs. Mason a one year extension period to
continue to operate their auto engine repair business within the existing
garage in Part Lot 19, Concession 2, former Township of Darlington, so as to
allow the Masons sufficient time to re-locate their operation; and
THAT Messrs. Trudeau and Britton be advised of Council's decision.

THAT the correspondence received from Gordon Barrie, on behalf of the
Darlington Pioneer Cemetery Board, requesting a grant from Council be
received;
THAT the following be included for consideration in the 1991 budget
deliberations:
1. THAT a Reserve Fund for Capital Reconstruction Purposes for
Dar1ington Pioneer Cemeteries be created, and that $10,000 be
provided as a transfer to that Reserve Fund in the 1991 budget;
2. THAT, in the 1991 Operational Budget, an amount of $5,000 be
included for the Darlington Pioneer Cemeteries; and
3. THAT the Community Services Department be requested to pursue
available grants for this cemetery during 1991 (any funds realized to
go directly into the Reserve Fund); and
THAT Gordon Barrie be advised of Council's decision.
