Aksl Properties Ltd. is the owner of property bounded on the north by Pebblestone Road, on the east by Tooley's Road, on the south by the Adelaide Street extension and on the west by Old Varcoe Road Eyman Estates is located just east of Hancock Road, north of Nash Road. Mr. Jain requested that the Town of Newcastle recommend to the Region of Durham that these two areas be included in the living area of the proposed OtrIcial Plan. Mr. John Rice, 65 Concession Street West, Bowmanville, L1C 1Y7, addressed Council in opposition to the recommendations contained in Report PD-336-90. Mr. Rice indicated that a report from Proctor and Redfern identifIes that the intersection of Queen and St. George Streets is a dangerous one, and he stated that he is offering the Town the opportunity to rectify the problem. Mr. Irwin Hamilton, Hamilton & Associates, 1 Division Street, P.O. Box 39, Bowmanville, was present to answer questions of Council as they relate to the Rezoning Application submitted on behalf of Dr. Eleanor Vincent. Mr. Hamilton distributed to Council a letter from Reginald Tressider in support of the Rezoning Application. Dr. Eleanor Vincent, Box 178, Newcastle, LOA 1HO, answered Council's questions with respect to the Rezoning Application submitted on her behalf. Mr. Reg Webster, G.M. Sernas & Associates, 110 Scotia Court, Whitby, L1N 8Y7, was called but was not present. Ms. Velvet Ross, Tunney Planning, 340 Byron Street South, Whitby, L1N 4P8, appeared before Council on behalf of Kevin Tunney in concurrence with the recommendations contained in Item #3 of Report #1 (Planning Report PD-31l-90). Council Minutes '-' DELEGATIONS '- "- - 3 - November 12, 1990 Mr. Witzke, R.R. #3, Bowmanville, L1C 3K4, appeared before Council requesting that his lands located in the Courtice area be included in the living areas proposed for the Official Plan. Mr. Claudio Brutto, 47 Sheppard Avenue East, Willowdale, appeared before Council on behalf of Aleko Management Ltd., the owners of a 45 hectare parcel of land at the intersection of Highway 401 and Bennett Road He stated that his clients agree with the designation of the E-7 Employment Area, however, they would like to recommend that it be extended to the east side of Bennett Road to allow for a true employment node to be achieved. Ms. Katherine Guselle, 45 Connaught Street, Oshawa, L1G 2H1, appeared on behalf of SAGA with respect to Item #3 of Report #1 (Planning Report PD-311-90). Ms. Guselle distributed to Council SAGA's recommendations as they pertain specifIcally to the Ganaraska Water Areas, Major Open Space Areas, The Oak Ridges Morain, Estate Residential Development, Criteria, Support Studies and Regional Recreational/Touriam Nodes. Mr. R. Martindale, The Greer Galloway Group Inc., addressed Council on behalf of Messrs. Murray Marchant, Kelvin Jones and Grenville Byam with respect to Item #6 of Report #1 (Planning Report PD-333-90). Mr. Martindale stated that his clients are concerned with the implication of Section 9.4(ili) (a) which addresses the hasis on which hamlets can be designated as hamlets for growth and requested that this section be tabled in order to allow for discussion with Town Staff. Mr. Harvey Thompson, Treasurer, and Dr. John Magder, Chairman, No Ganaraska Dump Committee were present to answer questions of Council with respect to their request for fInancial assistance in the amount of $5,000 (Correspondence included under Unfinished Business in the Agenda).
