The Members of Darlington Council met this day ay 4.30 P-Iil.
.After taking their Declaration of Office the Reeve called on . Members
f or a few -,.,7ords. Rev. R.M.Seymour delivered a fine message and offered prayer.
Deputy Reeve Rickard moved a vate of appreciation to Mr. Seymour f or
his f ine remarks. ,
On motion of G.B.Rickard and E.F.G.Vice the Clerk order eight (8) copies
of the Municipal ,World.
On motion of G.B.Rickard and R. Stevens, the Road Supt., E.F.G.Vice and
Clerk be sent as delegates to Good Roads Convention.
On motion of R.C.Stevens and G.B.-Rickard the Resolution authorizingDthe exp-
enditure of $1040,000® for High _'chool Debentures be passed and signed.
At this time the Council adjourned to attend a dinner given by Reeve
Nichols served and provided by the Hampton Ladies Service Club in the Church basement
to about 50 guests. which was much enjoyed by all partaking
After dinner the Council and School Board and a number of the other guests
returned to the Township Hall where a programme of short speeches xxxe was heard,
and considerable enlightening imformation was given by those called upon. A number
of pictures were taken by John James
The School Board of taking their 'Leclaration of Office, held a
meeting thwirChairman for 19.54.
