HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-07-02 July 2, 1954. Darlington Council held their meeting this evening with the Members of Council all present, Reeve Nichols presiding. The :minutes of last meeting were read and on motion adopted. Jones Sub-Division Plan was discussed and on motion of G.B.Rickard and E.F.G.Vice the Plan be approved by the Darlington Council. . Clerk to write a letter confirming this motion to the Department of Veteran' s Affairs and Veteran' s Land Act. . Ken Graham requested Council to do something on the road leading to has ' property in Lot 13, Con. 9. Road Supt to look this over. Road Supt Graham presented his report and vouchers for June which were on motion accepted and vouchers ordered to be paid. Letter was read from the Board of Transport Commissioners re-Wades Crossing. Clerk to write and acknowledge receipt of letter and say that Darlington Council would meet their Division Engineer July y at 1 P.M. D.S.T. Letter was read from Mr. Mayer Lot 26, Con. 6, stating that he had done considerable work in cleaning up road sides and straightening water course and asked for re-inburdement in part. On motion of G.B.Rickard and E.F.G.Vice a cheque for $25.00 be sent to K.Symons for the Manston Fund. Clerk to call W. Lycett and say that Council request him to ascertain all Owners,, Joint or otherwise in the Township of Darlington. Communications were read and dealt with. Reeve to contact Mr. Millman re Planning Board. Clerk to write J.T.White that this Council are agreeable to consider assoc- iating with other Municipalities to fora an Association for the betterment of all Municipalities. The general accounts were read and ordered paid. A7111lications were read from a number of applicants for Clerk etc.(Fourteen Applicatiore.) On motion of E.F q.nice and G.B.Rickard this Council hire Walftr E. Rundle for Assistant Cler-Treas. and General o0fice work. On motion of E.F.G.Vice and G.B.Rickard the meeting adjourn.
