'Minutes of last meeting were read and on motion of Councillors Stevens and Werry adopted As read. Road Supt. presented his report and vouchers for August which were on motion of Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Werry accepted and vouchers ordered to be paid. Road Supt. was given the authority to purchase timber. On motion of Councillors Vice and Stevens a prime coat be laid on the hard-topped road laid last year. - Clerk to find out the owner of property in Lot 35, Concession 3 and write Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Vice that Councillor Stevens and Ij eputy Clerk attend to furnishing new office. A.C.Stark addressed Council re-Tender for heating the Township Hall. On motion of Councillors Stevens and Vice the Reeve and Deputy Reeve be a comnittee with power to award contract for heating Hall. Carried. Clerk to write A.C.Stark to the effect that the road in Pollard Sub-div- ision has not been taken over by the Township and will not be until it has been completed and passed. by Tarn. ship Road Supt. On motion of Councillors Stevens and Werry, J.F.Heyland be appointed to the Durham County District High School Board. Clerk to notify both parties to that effect. On motion of -Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Vice Clerk & Deputy Clerk to investigate hospital accounts. On notion of Councillors 'Tice and Werry , amended By-law 2003 was given its third reading, signed sealed and numbered. I On motion of Councillors Werry and Stevens the Council order 16000 more pine trees for reforestraticin. Communication from A.W.S.Greer re- Gatchell garage on Township Property. On motion of Deputy leve Rickard and Councillor Vice, Mr. Greer be given authority to go ahead with the case. wetter from Board of Rail-way Commissioners re- Waaevs Crossing. Reeve Nichols reported on this matter. Letter was read from the Association of Rural Municipalities. On motion Walter E. Rundle to attend meeting if possible. Other communications were ordered filed. By-lain appointing Walter E. Rundle as Deputy Clerk. Treasurer and Tax Coll= ector was passed and numbered 2005. The general accounts were presented and ordered to be paid. On motion of Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Vice the Clerk write the Hydro offices at Oshawa and Boymanville to the effect A. that they should not provide servile to any pin this Municipality whose application has not been approved by the Township Clerk. Clerk to write Oshawa Hydro for an appointment to meet Township Road Superintendent regarding moving of poles on Lawson Road. On motion Council adjourned. Page 2. September 2, 1954.
