Darlington Township Council met in Special Meeting on the above date
with all Members present•
Letters from K.E.Gourtice and R.C.Pearce were received, asking that the
road between Lots 26-27 in the 1st and 2nd Concessions be made usable. Referred to
Roads Committee;.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Osborne that G.A.Peterson be
given authority to spend up to w50.00 to cut brush on roadway on Lot 30-31, Con. 2.
Carried.
Movgd by Councillors Stevens and Werry that motion of March 3rd. meeting
re Assessor' s Salary be rescinded.
By-law to set the Assessor' s salary at $2500.00 per year plus $450.00
By-law. 2019 car allowance was given its several readings and ordered signed,sealed and
numbered 2019®
R.J.Dilling, Township Auditor, reviewed the Auditor' s 1954 report with
Council.
.. Moved by Councillors Stevens and Werry that Clerk and Deputy Cleric
be instructed to contact personally each taxpayer whose cheques were taken in the
March 1954 break in, and attempt to collect such amounts.
Letter to be written the Municipal World asking if grants on capital
expenditures for Public School purposes should be paid to Public School Boards
or to Township Councils.
Moved by Councillors Stevens and merry that Council call for Tenders
for a Maintainer on forms to be supplied by the Township. Carried.
By-law to set up the Road Expenditures was given its several readings
By-law 2020 and ordered signed,sealed and numbered 2020.
Council adjour ed to meet Friday March 21, 1955, at 1 o'clo P.M.
