HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-10-06 Ham. -oton, October 6, 1955. Darlington Township Council met in the Township Hall on the above date with all Members present, Reeve Nichols presiding. Mr. Russell Perkins asked to be relieved of the position of Pound 4eeper, and complained of the condition of the Solina. Road. Minutes of the last meeting were read and on motion of Councillor Stevens and Deputy Reeve Vice, were approved as read. Doug Barton spoke for a Delegation from the 7th Concession west of Enniskillen re improving the road by straightening, also asking action on winter road to by-pass Enniskillen Hill. Moved by Councillors Werry and Stevens that F.G.Smith be authorized to have fire warning signs made for Township Reforestation Area. Carried. H.E.Runile suggested repairs to road in Concession 5, East of Hampton Matter was referred to Road Committee. Moved by Councillor Osborne and Deputy Reeve Vice that bid of J. -Nem- isz of $150-00 for piece of land in Concession3 be accepted. Carried. Comm-,.Lrication from Mr. Leadbeater reKennel license referred to Reeve andJ.D.Hogarth. Letter from residents of Hancock Road South referred to Road Committee. Message from Gravel Pit road residents re.wrecking yard, referred to J.D.Hogarth and E.A.Varcoe. Moved by Councillors Stevens and Ferry that general accounts be passed as presented. Carried. The matter of the ditch at Percy Davidson' s was referred to Road Committee. Moved by Councillors Osborne and Merry that J.D.Hogarth investigate W.Wade gravel account and inform him that if the amount is not correct it will be adjusted on the next bill. On motion of Deputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Osborne,, Clerk to write Hi-Way Construction to the effect that we have a receipted bill for crushing up to ,Jan. 8. 1954, and that we would like to know what month he crushed and stockpiled the 2019 ton. Moved by Deputy Reece Vice and Councillor Osborne that this Council agree to give James McLaughlin $125.00 and 80 cedar posts for a strip of land, 11® wide and 80 rod long, along the North side of road allowance though lot 21, Concession 9. Carried. The John Nobel complaint was referred to E.A.Varcoe. Moved by Deputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Osborne that road accounts be paid as presented. Appt. of Law By-law No. 2030 was given its several readings and sgned, sealed and Enforcement OffiFI�ered. Moved by Councillor Osborne and Werry that this Council give tentative acceptance to a plan of sub-division offered by Elmer Pollard in Lot 29, Con. 3, Darlington. Carried. Moved by Councillors Osborne and Werry that consent to sale be given in 17 cases as recommended by the Darlington Township Planning Board at its Sept. 22nd Meeting. Moved by Councillors Osborne and Werry that this Council give tentative approval to plan of sub-division as submitted by Mike Panas,, in Lot 25, Con. 2, Darlington. Carried. Page 2.
