HomeMy WebLinkAbout1955-12-01 December 1 5 5 Darlington Township Council met in the Tovinship Hall on the above date with all 1,111embers present, Reeve Nichols -,.:)residing. Minutes of last meeting were read and on motion of Deputy Reeve Vtn and Councillor Werry were passed as read. Road accounts totalling $ L961.86 were presented and on motion of Councillor Osborne and Deputy Reeve Vice wyere ordered paid,(with the exception of W.B.Bennett Bill for §799.50, and bills for $120.00 for rent of road from R. Gibbs, and for gravel , $99.10, from R. Snowden to be paid. Moved by Councillor Osborne and Deputy Reeve Vice that consent to sale of 5 acres of land, Lot 27, Con. 4, by -Am. Hasuik be given, subject to the provision that the road leading to the propertywillbe temporary only for some time. Carried. Moved by Deputy Reeve Vice and Councillor Stevens that the Clerk write to Insurance Co. askinop them to reconsider Hardy claim since there has been some confusion as to information on length of time given to consider claim. Carried. Moved by Councillors Stevens and Osborne that consent be given to sale of land, Kerr to Goodwin., Lot 20, Con.2. Carried. General accounts totalling A 22)3.08 were passed on motion of Councillors I.Werry and Stevens. The Gillespie letter referred to Road Committee of 1956. Moved by Councillors Osborne and Stevens that the Clerk write the Oshawa Fire Dept, Chief Hobbs, to the effect that Township of Darlington will be responsible for calls to the Oshawa Fire Dept. if called by the Bowmanville F. Dept., , or the Reeve also askhng authority to use hydrant at_'U-&i-*,4" limits on No. 2 Highway. Moved by Councillors Stevens and Osborne that consent be Civen to sale of land in Lot 6, Con. 3, Bothwell to V.L.A. Moved by Councillor Osborne and Deputy Reeve Vice that Council refuse consent of sale of land in Lot 23, Uon. 2, by Whiteside to S.D.T.A.School Board. Carried. Broken bridge rail near Tyrone referred to Road Supt. (Lot 11, Con. 7.) Road Supt® was instructed to close south end of road between Lots 10-11 in Con. 7, by placing sign at south end and one at centre. Applications for position of Road. Supt. were read and tabled for further consideration.
