HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956-04-05 Bampton, April 5, 1956® Darlington Township Council met in the Township Hall o� the above date with all Members present with the exception of Deputy Reeve Rickard, Reeve Nichols presiding. Minutes of the previous meetings were read and on motion of Councillors Stevens and Blanchard were accepted as read, Moved by Councillors Stevens and Osborne that Alfred Allin be paid $300.00 for the use of gravel beach in 1955. �. Delegation with petition re Preston side road from Taunton Road to 101 Highway was heard and matter reXferred to Road Committee Delegation re Enfield Hill presented its case and was referred to the Road Committee. Petition frorn residents of Maple Grove sideroad south was read and matter referred to Road Committee. Clerk was instructed. to write Dept. of Highways re approach to Highway 401 from North on Don Metcalfe' s sideroad. Moved by Councillors Osborne and Stevens that Sidney Worden be paid $100.00 payment in full for sheep damages to date. Moved by Councillors Stevens and Osborne that Post San. Care for Lola Butler be continues through October 1956. Jos. Crawford appeared re water and culvert on road between Lots 18-19 Con. 4,and matter was referred to Road Committee. A By-law to appoint Solicitors for the Township was given its several By-Law 20L7 readings and ordered to be signed, sealed and numbered 2047. On motion of Councillors Stevens and Blanchard, By-law to authorize the issuing of Debentures for Public School Buildings was given its first and second By-law 204" readings and numbered 2016. On motion of Councillors Blamchard, Stevens and Osborne, a By-law to regulate the qualifications of Electricians in the Township of Darlington was By-law 201.5 given its several readings and ordered signed, sealed and numbered 201,.5® On motion of Councillors Stevens and Blanchard, S.E.White be appointed Insurance broker for the Township of Darlington, and that he shall receive all s Ras. No. 1 commissions from Township Insurance written with the Frank Cowan Agency of Woodstock, and shall pays to Walter'Parrinder 25 % of such commissions, and to . Cecil Dudley 25 '�o of such commissions, retaining 50 % as his share of commissions and salary.
