Darlington Township Council was called to a special meeting i,n the Township
Miall on the above date by Reeve Nichols, who presided. Present were Deputy Reeve
Rickard and Councillors Osborne and Blanchard.
A By-law to repeal Township By-laws No. 972,, 11,Ll and 1158 was given
its several readings and ordered signed sealed and numbered 2056.
By-law No. 2052 (Consumers Gas ) was given its � readings and finally
passed and signed.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and CouncillorBlanchard that By-law
2046 (Debenture) be given its third reading in the amount of $81,600.00.
Moved by Councillors Osborne and Blanchard that T.K.Stewart be
appointed Road Supt. for the Township of Darlington at a salary of $1000.00 per
annum plus a car allowance of 8¢ per mile, incurred in the performance of his dfities
as Road Supt. for the Township.
By-Law 200 (Road Sttpt.) was given its several readings and ordered
signed and sealed.
Moved by Deputy 4eeve Rickard and Councillor Blanchard that this Council
accept the offer of J.L.Graham Co, to purchase $81,600.00 ,o non callable Debentures
maturing Sept. 1 1956-1976 as per schedule supplied, for the amount of $79,274.40
subject to the conditions in the Company's offer dated August 21, 1956.
On motion Council adjourned.
