HomeMy WebLinkAbout1947-12-04 December 4, 1947. Darlington Council met this day with the Members all present. The minutes of the l.ab�t meetings were read and on motion were adopted as read. W.R.Pickell addressed the Counuil regarding his tag bill for 1947, he had not received an assessment and legally did not have to pay taxes as the land had been purchased by the Dept. of Highways,he offered to pair the s= approximately of $70.00. There was nothing decided, Cdr. R. Perkins and J. Crawford addressed the Council re water course or creek that runs through Crawford's land on to the sideroad between lots 22 and 23. The ditch is full of brush and muck which dams the water back on Crawford and Perkins Land. The Council decided to have the engineer look at the situat-hon and have something done. Clerk to notify the Engineer. The bills were read and on motion dffey were orderdd to be paid as read except the park bill. The Communivations, were read from Fergus Morrill re dumping of refuse on roads. Notice to be put in paper and get signs. On motion of A. Millson and H.Skinner the Road Supt. procure these signs and erect them. On motion of R. McGill and H. Skinner a quit elaim Deed be given H. Fraser for 13 acres. On motion of R. McGill and A. Millson Roy Graham be given consent to wreck cars on his property provided he enclose the lot at the front. The road Supt. presented his report and vouchers and on motion wd3re accepted and vouchers ordered to be paid except the bridge north of Courtice.
