HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-01-12 HAMPTON VAA.UARY 12, 1947. The Inaugural Meeting of the Darlington Council was held this day at 11 ofclock,A.Y. Rev. E.S.Linstead read a portion of Scripture and offered prayer which was very appropriate for the occassion and Hauch appreciated. A Vote of thanks was tendered Mr. Linstead for this service. The Members of Council all spoke a fear words and the trend was to keep taxes down. Meeting adjourned for Ranch to convene again at the eall of the chair. At O dog clock meeting was called to order and resumed regular 'business. Messrs J.F.Heyland and M.H.Wight addressed the Council re-bushing and cleaning up weeds on roadside. The Council agreed to do some work in their district. Communications were read. On motion of H.Skinner and R.Nichols,W.J.Chapman be Janitor at $60.00 On motion of A. Millson and R.M.McGill we renew our Membership in G.R.A.fee I 5.00 On motion of R. Nichols and A. Millson this Council grant $100.00 to the Sal- vation Army, On motion of A. Millson and. R. McGill the Clerk order 7 copies of MUN.World. The bills were read and on motion of H.Skinner abd R. Nickols the 'bills be paid. Considerable discussion took place regarding snow ploughing. On motion the meeting adjourned to meet February 5th, at 1 o'clock.p.M. The following bills were paid.
