HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-04-01 HAMPTON, April 19 1949. Darlington Council met this day with Members all present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and on motion of A. Millson axad R. McGill were ado-oted. A coni cation was read from Bell Telephone Co, re— removal of poles on Lot 32, Oon.10. On motion of A.I.vUllson and R. Nichols, the Clark seri .e the B.T.Co that this Council wish them to do this work- at stated pricelp Messrs. K.A.Grills,W.R.Pickell and Jan Veenhoff visited the Council regarding their 1947 t—axes. On motion of Roy McGill and R.W.Nichols the Assessment be reduced 82-50 per acre on each assessed.-property of W.R.Pickell,Jan Veenhoff,K..A..Grills and L.J.Beaton. S.R.Jamas and General Agent addressed. the Council re :Insaranc Coverage. Mr. E.F.Marston visited the Council and presented gravel contract to be signed H.C.O.Mills. On Motion of TE.W.Nichols and Roy. McGill this Council pay Road Supt." 1700-00 plus $200.00 for car expenses, Tractor Operator 15 per hour, Maintainer Operator .75 per hour, to transport their own fuel during s=er, Other Labor '55 per hour. Light Tractors $1,225, Large Tractor $1.50, 3—horse teams .90 per hour, 2—horse teams .70 per hour. Men to work 10 hours per day from May 1st. to Oct, 1st. and 9 hours a day for 'balance of year. Trucks at $L10 per hour Driver ;160 per hour. The Road Supt. presented his report and Vouchers for March which were on motion accepted and Vouchers ordered to be pa-Ad. G.F.Annis was appointed to the Bowmanville Hospital Board. On motion of Roy McGill and A. Millson this Council grant to 3owmanville Hos-oital $200.00 On motion of A, Millson and Roy McGill the Clerk—Treasurer and Tax Collectorts salary be raided 8100,00 per year. On motion of R. Nichols and R.M—McGill the meeting adjourn to meet May 6th.. 49- The Following Bills were paid: Bell Tele-ohone Co, of Can, Service Charges 3--94 City of Oshawa.
