HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-12-15 Hampton, December 15, 1949. Darlington Council met this day with the fibers all present. Minutes of last meeting were read and on motion were adopted as read.. Letter was read from Clerk of Pickering Township reā€”Harold Shortt. Messers Payne and Sherba addressed the Council re road condition at Lot 17, Cone. 4. Constable Pollard(Prov. Police) reported'on' the construction of Varcoe Dance Hall and stated that they had complied with the regulations pertaining thereto, On motion of R.W.Nichols and H. Skinner this Council advise W.LMiller to ?ourcha.se 1W00° of bridge top from W A.T7aeisberger @ $65.00 per 10001. International Agent from Oshawa was present with Mr. Bond. The Case agent was present with Mr. Browne of Bowmanville. Lessers Wi.R.Pickle and G.F.Annis appealed for some aid for Mr. George Penberthy at the County Home.. On motion of H.Skinsner and R.W.Nichols this Council give him $2.00 per month! On motion of Roy McGill and H. Skinner this Council inspect with Lucius Hooper, Varcoe's Dance Hall&that Mr. Hooper be invited to be our Fire Inspector. Norman Green addressed the Council re--snow fence and posts. The Bills were read and on motion were ordered paid. The Road. Supt. presented his report and Vouchers which were on motion accepted and vouchers ordered to be paid. On motion of H.Skinner and R.W.Nichols this Council pay be $100.00 ger year and if any long trips be taken mileage be paid. On motion ,Lary Niddery be paid $100.00 for bookkeeping (Road Accounts.) Reeve and Clerk be authorized to pay bills to end of year 1949 and thk the Reeve and Clerk be authorized to sign Road Reports for the year. On motion of A. Millson and R. W. Nichols the Clerk write Eastern Steel that this Council endorse the order for Hydraulic Controls for snow plow. On motion of Harold. Skinner and Roy McGill the purchase of snow fence be left in the hands of W.L.Miller for approx. 1900 t and posts. On motion the Council adjourned Sial% Die.
