Darlington Council met this evening with Reeve Nichols presiding.
Discussion took place regarding re-surfacing side walks in the village. The
Council decided to investigate the cost of hot mix surface.
Council discussed the advisability of -purchasing a Loader.
On motion of Carnet Rich and Harold Skinner the Council offer W.L.Ballentine
Company the sum of 16500.00 for Hough Loader complate as per specifications on Tender,
this includes Cab,Bucket Teeth and rear tires 12"'-00 x2�+, front tires 900 x 20.
Carried unamimously.
Clekk to write Loader Companies re these Tenders, that Council has purr-chased
loader.

A special meeting of Darlington Council was held this evening at Reeve Nichols Garage
in Bowmanville.
On motion of Garnet B,Rickaxd and Harold Skinner the resolution to offer to purchase
a Huagh Loader from W.L.Ballentyne for the sum of $6500.00 was rescinded.
On motion of Garnet B.Rickard and Harold Skinner Darlington Council purchase a Hough
Loader from W.L.Ballentyne for the s-an of $6921.00 loader to be complete with Cab,
Bucket Teeth.,1400z24 rear tires and 900x 20 front"tires.This motion was carried.
Discussion took place regarding the dust nLiisance created by the trucks hauling gravel
to the new Highway.The Clerk was instructed to contact the Deputy Minister of Highways
and find out vat was being done to aleviate this nuisance.
