Darlington Council held a special meeting at Reeve Nichols office.'Fnismeeting being called
for the purpose of trying to get some co-opt-eration through the Department of Highways
regarding the dust nuisance being created by the trucks using our roads in hauling gravel
to the # 2 A Highway and also to assist in the maintenance of these roads with gravel.
On motion of Garnet B.Rickard and E.F.G.Vice the Clerk was instructed to send a Telegram
to the Deputy Minister of Highways,stating the damage being done to our roads and bridges
and also stating that the Township had received no co-operation from the Contractors
working
., on the construction of the new highway and asking for the co-operation of the
Department through immediate action.
The Clerk was instructed to write the Oil Pipe Line Co.amd ask them to remove the brash
and trees left on the road allowance between lots 9 & 9,Con.3.
The meeting adjourned.
