Darlin&ton Councol held a. special meeting to most .C.A.Poynton District Engineer
Mr.Poynton reported that the sideroad at the Interment Camp would have to be clos=&
therefore the following resolution was passed
Moved by R.R.Stevens
Seconded by R.K.Squair
That the Clerk notify the Dept. of Highways that this Council declare themselves
willing to close the road through the Internment Camp,and agree to co-operate with the
Federal and ProvincialGovernments to the closing of that portion of Township Road
through Concession 2,between lots 6 & 7 from the Camadian Pacific Railway southerly
to the South limits of Concessio 2, as a war measure for the duration,providing the
Township Expenditure is increased $ 2000.00,whereas the Township wi3.1 be put to the
considerable expense of repairing the alternate road to the one being closed,
A copy of this resolution was handedto Mr.Poynton for the Dept.of Highways.
The Council accompanied by Mr.Poynton viewed the condition of the road between lots 32
&33 Con-7 , whereon a, committee comrposedof Road Supt,Reeve and Corascillor White were
appointed to interview W.J.Mountjoy regarding land land for new location of road,
Om motion of S.E,W ite and R.K.Squair the Council engaged Wm.lgcett as Assessor
for 1943 at a SalaXY of $ 300,00.The assessment to be completed by Sept 30th 1942*
The Coancil were all present at this meeting except Dep.Reeve Pascoe who was ill,
The meeting adjjourned.
