Darlington Council met this day at 1 P.A., Reeve Pickell presiding. The minutes
of the last meeting were read and on motion were adopted.
Mr. Prouse and Mr. Smith addressed the Council re assessment on the Marchment
farm, Dots 1,2, and 3, Con. 4, and asked to have the assessment reduced $1400,
1400:00.
Mr. G.F.Annis addressed the Council re grant for Durham Central Fair. On motion
of D.C.Pascoe and S.E.Whhite they be granted $75.00. On motion of R.K.Squair and
,.E.White they grant $25.00 to South Ontario Agricultural Society.
The bills were read and on motion were ordered to be paid,
A com anication was read from Canadian National Exhibition asking that two
children be nominated to attend a luncheon on Childrents Day at the Exhibition,
On motion of R.E.Stevens and R.K.Squair this invitation be accepted and-two
childr4n be selected to go.
On motion the Council adjourned and formed themselves into a Court of Revision.
The following cases were heard and disposed of as follows:
Roger Crook - assessment reduced $50.00
Alfred Grace - acreage reduced 15 acres and assessment reduced-$250;00
Wallace glow - assessment reduced on elevator at Burkston $1250000
Durham Tobacco Plantations - assessmeAt sustained.
Nike Panas - assessment sustained.
On motion the 1or.rzcil resumea regular business.
On motion of R.K.Squair and L.C:$ scoe the assessor be paid.
The tender of Jobm'McDaren for crushing gravel was read and on motion of R.R.Stemens
and R.K.Squair the tender be accepted.
The commnications were read and .on.motion were ordered received and filed.
T.H..Richards, Road Superintendent, presented his report and vouchers which were
on motion accepted and vouchers ordered to be paid.
On motion the Council adjourned to meet July 5th,
