HomeMy WebLinkAbout1941-08-02 Hampton, August 2, 1941. Darlington Council met this day with the menioers all present. The mkirates of the last meeting were read and on motion were adopted. The draw was made by the Reeve to select two c:,ildren to attend the Canadian National Exh; tion. Two were drawn and two substitutes were drawn as well in case the first two selected were unable to go. C "cation was read from the C.P.R. asking for eonsent to remove cattle guards from railroad crossings. On motion of S.E.White and R.R.Stevens the communication be not entertained. A communication. mmPram Jas. McLaughlin and Mrs. A. Wilson was read complaining of a dangerous condition existing near their homes in Burketon. On motion of S.E.Wbite and R.R.Stevens the Weed Ins-oector be notified to have this nuisance cleaned up and have the same charged to the owner. The Road Superintendent presented his report and vouchers for July which were on motion accepted and vouchers ordered to be paid. On motion of L.C.Pascoe and R.K.Squair the Road Superintendent inspect the line f6nee between Gabriel Kovacs property and the Township of Darlington land. Silas Williams, Feed Inspector, presented his report and he was advised to clean up the nuisance in Burketon. Herbert Cameron complained that he had broken his car by driving over the end of a culvert south of Mrs. Geo. Stephens and asked for damages. On motion of R.P..Stevens and R.K.Squair the Road Superintendent report Herb Cameron's accident to the Insurance Company for adjustment. Council adjourned to meet September 6th at one o'clock.
