Present were Reeve Nichols in the Chair, and Councillors Smith and Thompson. Moved by Councillor Thompson and Councillor Smith that Road Supt. be instructed to prepare Roads Expenditure for 1957 at the rate of 12 mills. Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that this Council petition the Department of Highways of Ontario to transfer $ 2662.45 from New Machinery to prdinaryConstruction and A2357-41 from Bridges and Culverts Construction to ordinary Construction, on Township By-law 2041. Delegation from Tyrone re Hill east of Tyrone. Delegation from Long Sault re Long Sault road and bridge. Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that Road Supt. investigate and report to next meeting. Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that the following be inserted in the Daily Commercial News. "Tenders will be received by the undersigned until 12 noon, Thursday March 7, 1957, for the supply and application of M.C.Prime on about 15 miles of Township road, average width 18 feet, approximately 36000 gals to be applied at 180 degrees F. in May or June 1957. Bidder to supply tank of at least 2000 gal capacity. Quote price per gal. supplied and applied Certified cheque to the amount of 10 1% of bid to accompany Tender. " Tenders will be received by the undersigned until 12 noon, Thursday Larch 7, 1957, for surface treatment on about 10 miles of Township road average width 18 feet. Bidder to supply and apply R.C.3 asphalt and 3/8 crushed clean chips. State separately price for asphalt supplied and applied, also give alternative price of same job with chips supplied by the Township. Bidder to su ply roller of suitable size and weight and tank of 2000 gal capacity. Stone must meet with the approval of District Municipal Road Engineer.
