HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-04-04 April 4, 1957. Darlington Township Council met in the Solina Community Hall on the above date, all Members present, Reeve Nichols presiding. Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that the minutes of the previous meeting be accepted as read. A Delegation from Southwest Darlington (Messrs. H. Mackie, C. Osborne C. Down and Alderman W. Down of Oshawa.) presented a petition protesting against the proposed establishment of a wrecking yard in Lot 32, Con. 1, Darlington. The delegation was assured that a permit would not be granted. A Delegation from Maple Grove Road presented a petition protesting against the practise of selling unfinished houses, and the use of outside toilets in built up areas. Clerk to check with Health Unit re sanitary facilities. Moved by Dep. Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that Road Supt® be authorized to use Township Equipment to level Zion Cemetery property. Wesley Werry appeared re ditchings and Gravelling on road between Lots 28-29 Con. 6. The matter was referred to the Road Supt. Mr. Lockwood of Trans-Canada Pipe Lines appeared re Right of Way accross Township roads. Moved by Garnet B. Rickard, seconded by A. Thompson, that the Reeve and Clerk be hereby authorized to sign agreements with Trans Canada Pipe Lines Ltd., consenting to the location of their line as it affects road crossing and utility lines. J.D.Hogarth reported on wrecking yard and recommended that no license be given to R. McKnight, Hampton, or John Chaskavich Solina Road and No. 2 Hywy. Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that no license be given Chaskavich® Moved by Dep® Reeve Rickard and Councillor Trull that Council adjourn for 10 minutes. Mr. Keatley , Lot 28, Con. 4 appeared re road east on lith Concession in Lot 28. Road Supt® to investigate terms of sale. Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that road accounts totalling 6034.18 be passed as presented. Moved by Dep. Reeve Rickard and Councillor Trull that this Council accept road allowance as planned by Miss A. Knister provided that the Planning Board feels that the property is suitabley planned. Letter from Mrs. Datielson re ditching referred to Road Supt.
