I I Darlington Township Council met in the Township Hall on the above date, Reeve Nichols presiding, all Members present with the exception of Res® Deputy Reeve Rickard who was abse&t on County Council business. 1. Mmnutes of last meeting were read and on motion of Councillors Thompson and Trull were accepted as read. A Deputation from the Base Line appeared to protest establishment of wrecking yard in Lot 32, Con. 1, Darlington. 2 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith WHEREAS the Planning Board and Council of the Township of Darlington are jointly considering and having prepared a Zoning By-law and `official Plan for the whole'Township, THEREFORE the Clerk and Building Inspector are instructed not to issue permits or licenses for building or use of land for any uses not now common to the property in question. 3 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull: The Township of Darlington Solicitor and Municipal Consultants are hereby instructed to consider and if practical, draft a By-law freezing land use in the Township to its present use until general Zoning and Official Plan have been formally prepared,passed and approved by the Municipal Board. Moved by Councillors Thompson and 'Tull that the Road Accounts be paid as presented. 5 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that the General accounts be paid as presented. C_*l i 3 7. v3' i 6 Moved by Councillors Smith and -Trull that T.K.Stewat be authorized to sign certificate approving location for Bell Telephone Co. INI.C.741 39 after approving and inspecting location. 7 Moved by Councillors Thompson and`rrull that letter be sent to Durham District High Scgool Board to the effect that this Council strongly urge that the Board locate their new High School Building west of Bo-nmanville, taking into consideration the population of about 5000 persons in the Courtiee,laple Grove district also having in mind that pupils from Darlington may be excluded from Oshawa High School in the near future, also that Darlington pupils are nozv attending Oshawa H.S. in shifts, and that the new Oshawa H.S. will be crowded when opened. Mr. 14. Sisson appeared re Wrecking, yard. No action taken. 1 8 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that the Road Supt. be authorized L to hire a gravel crusher to crush approximately 5000 yards of gravel at the Township' s lake shore lot. 9 On motion of Councillor Smith meeting adjourned to December 15, 1957 at 1.30 P.M. r Reeve Clerk.
