Darlington Township Council met in the Township Hall on the above
date. All iiembers were present with the exception of Councillor Trull, Reeve Nichols
presided.
Minutes of last meeting were read and on motion of Councillors
Thompson and Smith were accepted as read.
Res® 1. Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that the Road Accounts be
paid as presented.
+' 20' Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that the
General Accounts be paid as presented.
t+ 3 11oved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that the Building Inspector
and Clerk be directed to accept Rogers Hydro Contract as Council felt that the
building is more than usually acceptable for use as a basement apartment.
++ 4. Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that members
of Council be paid an increase of x:50.00 per annum for the year 1957.
+, 5. Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard. and Councillor Smith that Members
of the Planning Board, Secretary W.E.Rundle and Bldg. Inspector ,.A.Varcoe be paid
ri5.00 per Meeting attended and RegionaZBbard: meetings_:attended.
p+ 6 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that Rule 33 be suspended
for this meeting.
By-law 2083 By-la.v for the authorization of borrowing 060000.00 from Bank
was, on motion, given its several readings and ordered to be signed,sealed and
numbered 2083.
By-law 2084, By-law to provide for the exchange of lands held by the Township
of Darlington for ,the purposes of a Community "entre at Zion was on motion,
given its three readings and ordered signed, sealed and numbered 2084.
++ 7 Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that Reeve and Clerk be
authorized to sign cheques for wages and salaries to December. 311957.

Movedby Councillors Thompson and Smith that be re-
appointed to the Durham County District High School Board for a twe year term.
The Township Planning Board and Representatives from the S.D.T.A.
School Board, also interested Ratepayers from S.S.# 4, met with the Council.
Mr. Wyman, Chairman of Planning Board briefly outlined the plans of
the Board. Mr. Muir, Chairman, and I<<Ir. Hobbs, Secretary, of the S.D.T.A.S.Board
also addressed Council.
Moved by Councillor Thompson that meeting adjourn.(5.15 P.M.)
