Darlington Township Council met in the Council Chambers on the above
date, all Members present, Reeve Nichols presiding.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that the minutes of previous
meeting be adopted as read.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that Road Supt. investigate
the building or buying of a float to move the Township' s Bulldozer.
Clerk was instructed to contact Bowmanville Fire Dept. and tank
manufacturers re tank and truck for additional fire protection and to prepare a
Fire By-law for August meeting.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Smith that road accounts
in the amount of 17190.11` be paid.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that general accounts in the
amount of $ 2396.80 be paid.
Mr. Hobbs of South Darlington School Area Board visited Council in
regard to new building at Courtice South.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and gull that the South Darlington
School Area Board be asked to delay its building plans until Zoning is completed.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that this Council go on record
as opposing the proposal of the Durham County District High School Board to establish
a new High School in the vicinity of Orono.
Mr. Hogarth was instructed to investigate Parr property and report.
Meeting of Council and Ratepayers at Shaw' s School , Thursday, July
10, at 8 P.M. re Bennett interchange.
