Darlington Township Council met this evening in the Council Chambers,
in Special Session, all Members present, Reeve Nichols presiding. Attending this
meeting were Members of South Darlington School Area Board, Messrs. Coombes,Muir,
Cook, Morden, and Secretary Hobbs, Mr. Wyman, Chairman p� Darlington Township
anning.
Planning Board, Mr. Little and Mr. Raymond of Municipal�bonsultants Ltd.
Mr. Little reviewed Official Plan for information of Council
Mr. Raymond explained the map of the proposed Plan.
Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that the Proposed Official
Plan for the Township of Darlington as presented by Municipal Consultants Co. Ltd.
be hereby adopted, and that the Reeve and Clerk be authorized to sign the Plan for
submission to the Minister of Planning & Development.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that this Council request the
Dept. of Highways of Ontario to construct the Base Line to highway standard from the
easterly limit of the Town of Bowmanville through to the east limit of Lot 3,
Darlington, and that the location of the proposed interchange at Bennett Road will
not be contested by this Council.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that this Council
agree to underwrite any expense involved in engaging Municipal Planning
Consultants to assist in preparing our case for Municipal Board re road closing
on Highway 401.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Thompson that Forbes Hyland be asked
to resign from the Durham County Bistrict High School Board. Carried.
Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that Clerk be instructed to
prepare a By-law to provide for the issuing of Debentures to finance the building
of a two-room School at Lot 301, Con. 1, Darlington.
