Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on the above date
date, all Members present, Reeve Nichols presiding.
Minu.tes of three previous meetings were read, and on :notion of Councillors
Trull and Smith were approved as read.
Moved by Councillers Smith and Trull that Road Accounts in the amount of
$18,593.9L�be passed as presented.
Loved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Smith that Development Road
Account in the amount of $ 1878.08 be passed as presented.
Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that General Accounts
in the amount of $ 5831.31 be passed as presented.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Thompson that clerk be instructed to
advertise for Tenders for the sale and removal of the old Township Hall, the building
to be removed from the property on or before December 31, 1958, certified cheque in
the amount of 5C5. of bid to accompany tender, the balance to be paid before work is
commenced.
Moved by Councillor Trull and Deputy Reeve Rickard that expense accounts in
connection with rabies innoculation (Clerical, Rent, etc.,) be paid by the Township.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that clerk write to the
Dominion Dept. of Agriculture requesting that consideration be given to the compensation
of live stock owners for cost of rabies inneculations, and for loss of animals due to
rabies infection.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that Gerald Balson account for removing
earth from Township lot be paid at the rate of t .15 per yard, rather than the $2.00
per load quoted on bill.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that F.G.Smith be authorized to have
the Township' s Forestry lot refenced at a cost of not over $150.00.
Clerk was instructed to write Dept. of Highways re Motion of July 22,
contact County Clerk re nursing homes, contact Mr. Gorrie re Meadows Account, obtain
opinion from Municipal World re Heyland resignation, Contact Snowden and Hydro
Inspector re wiring in Municipal Building.
Moved by Councillor Trull and Deputy Reeve Rickard that this Council petition
the Ontario Dept. of Highways for payment of an interim subsidy.°'
Moved by Deputy "eeve Rickard and Councillor Trull that this Council ask the
Department of Highways of Ontario for approval of a Supplementary Road Expenditure,
of $15000.00.
