The 1959 Inaugural Meeting of Darlington Township Council was held in
the Council Chambers on the above date. The Oath of Office was admihistered to
Members Elect, Reeve Roy 77. Nichols, Deputy Reeve Garnet B. Rickard, Councillors
Allan E. Thompson, Earl B. Trull and F.G.Smith.
Reeve Nichols then took the Chair, and introduced Rev. F. J. reed,
who addressed the Council. Rev. Mr. i1eed was thanked for his interesting and timely
remarks by Councillor Trull.
Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that minutes of previous
meetings be approved as read.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that General accounts be paid
as presented. (Dec. 31 i' 1971-14, 1959 $1149-55
o_ Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that Road Accounts in the
amount of $ 1852.29 be paid as presented.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that
Membership fee to Ontario Good Roads Assoc. be paid for 1959. a ,'
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that the minfanum lot size
for residential uses in Agricultural Zones be 150 ft. frontage by 250 ft. deep,
and that the minimum house size be 1500 sq.ft for one storey with appropiate
adjustments for one and one- alf and two storey houses.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that the motion passed on Dec.
15, 1958, requesting the County Clerk to investigate the number of votes in certain
Municipalities be rescinded and that the County Clerk be asked to withdraw our
letter from his files.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that resolutions from
City of Woodstock re gas distribution, also resolution re inflation be endorse..
Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that Mr.
5 Morley Wyman and Mr. T.R.Valliers be appointed to Darlington Township Planning
Board for a 3 year term.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor X&MqOM Trull that
A.E.Thompson and F.G.Smith be appointed to Darlington Township Planning Board
for 1959.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Thompson that Fred G. Smith be
TF-(o appointed this Township's Representative to Central Lake Ontario Conservation
Authority.
Clerk was instructed to revise Boundary Roads Agreement with East
Whitby Township to place advertisement in papers re Fox Bounty, to arrange a
special meeting with Mr. Little on Jan. 6, 1959, and to ask Mr. McNeely if he could
meet Council as soon as possible.
