Darlington Township Council met in the Council Chambers on the above
date. All Members present, Reeve Nichols presiding.
4 -11 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that the Reeve and Clerk be
authorized to execute an agreement to purchase gravel from Stephen Seffery and a
similar agreement with Cecil Jeffery.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that the minimum ground floor
yg2 area for Residential uses in an Agricultural Zone be increased from 1350 sq.ft. to
1500 sq.ft., for a one storey building, plus the necessary changes for storey and
a half and two storey buildings, and that the minimum lot area for such uses be
37500 sq.ft. with minimum frontage of 150 ft.
Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that the minimum lot frontage
� in an R 1 Zone be 100 ft. and that the minimum lot area will be 20000 sq.ft., and the

minimum lot frontage in an R 2 Zone be 90 ft., and that the minimum lot area will
be 18000 sq.ft., and that the minimum frontage in an R 3 Zone be 80 ft. and the
minimum lot area will be 16000 sq.ft.
Movedby Councillors Thompson and Trull that all land owners be permitted
.� P one land separation, after which no further separations will be permitted without
a registered plan of sub-division. z
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that, in an Agricul. Zone, the
p� minimum lot sizes for persons employed .on a farm be 150 ft. frontage with a minimum
lot size of 37,500 sq.ft.
Moved by Councillor Smith and Deputy Reeve Rickard that wages of Road
Employees for 1959 be as follows:
John MacLean 1.60 per hour
Carl Ferguson 1.50 per hour
Wm. Ashton 1.50 per hour
Bruce Montgomery 1.35 per hour
Harvey Yellowlees 1.35 per hour
Allan Dickie 1.25 per hour
Other labourers 1.25 per hour.
Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that By-laws be prepared appointing
3T/7 T.K.Stewart as Road Supt. at a salary of $5500.00 per annum, and appointing Mrs.
T.K.Stewart, as Book-keeper for the Roads Dept. at a salary of $500.00 per annum.
Moved by Councillors Trull and Thompson that By-laws be prepared
�i to set salaries of Officials as follows:
Mary Ni.ddery $3120.00 per annum
E.A.Varcoe 3000.00 " "
W.E.Rundle 5000.00 " " plus .08 per mile
C. Pethick W.F.Insp. 1.25 per hour plus .08 per mile
W.R.Pickell Weed Insp. 1.25 per hour plus .08 per mile
Live Stock Valuers 3.00 per hour for the first hour, 1.25 per hour
for each additional hour plus .08 per mile.
Remuneration of Council to be discussed at February meeting. -
A By-law to confirm an agreement with the Township of East Whitby to
provide for the Maintenance of the Boundary Road between the Township of Darlington
and the Township of East Whitby was given its several readings and ordered signed,
sealed and numbered 2109.
