Darlington Township Council met in the Council Chambers on the above date, all Members present, Reeve Nichols presiding. 59-6-1 Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that the minutes of last meeting be adopted as read. Mr. Robert Tremble, president of the Darlington Ratepayers Association, addressed Council on behalf of the Association, and was invited to return to the July meeting. Mr. Hogevoorst, Burketon, addressed Council on behalf of the Trustees of S.s.# 7. i 59-6-2 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that tentative approval be given to the Trustee Board of S.S.No. 7 to erect a new School subject to approval of the Ratepayers of the School Section, the Dept. of Education, and the Ontario Municipal Board. 59-6-3 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that the Road Supt, be instructed to investigate the road between Lots 18 & 19 in Con. 4, and report. 59-6-4 Moved by Councillors Smith and Thompson that the Road Supt. be instructed to re-construct the given road running west from Scugog Rd. in the 6th Con., if satisfactory arrangements with property owners can be made. 59-6-5 Moved by Councillors Trull and Thompson that Clerk be instructed to take the necessary steps to acquire the right-of-way to a street running west from Trull' s Road in Lot 312 Con. 3, a distance of approximately 330 feet, and that legal advice be obtained re building proposal of Donald Puffer. 59-6-6 Moved by Councillor Trull and Deputy Keeve Rickard that proposal of J. Trimble to build a residence in the industrial zone be refer*ed to the Committee of Adjustment, and that Council recommend that favourable consideration be given to the ,proposal. 59-6-7 Beloved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that Clerk be instructed to accept a Hydro Contract for an advertising sign on W.B.Metcalf property, Lot 18, B.F.Con. 59-6-8 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that Clerk be instructed to inquire from the Town of Bowmanville as to the progress of the joint Dog Control set-up. 59-6-9 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that Clerk reply to letter from Farmer's Union asking for more information as to levying Union dues by By-law of this Township. 59-6-10 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that General Accounts in the amount of 6265.60 be passed for payment. 59-6-11 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that Road Accounts in the amount of $ 1LI-086.71 be passed for payment. 59-6-12 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that Clerk write Stokely VanCamp Ltd. to the effect that Council will co-operate in every possible way in the matter of a proposed vining station in this Township. 59-6-13 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that Clerk write to C.P.R. advising them of dangerous crossings on their line in the 10th. Con. 59-6-14 Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that F.G.Smith be authorized to have fire-guards plowed around forest farm. 59-6-15 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that permission be given for cutting of trees on road allowance, subject to written consent 121 owners of adjacent property. Page 2. 59-6-16 Moved by Councillor Smith and Deputy Reeve Rickard that Road Supt. be authorized to purchase "Keep Ont " signs. 59-6-17 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard with Mr. Nichols, be a Committee with power to act, in the matter of repairing the well.
