Darlington Township Council met in the Council Chambers on
the above date with all members present, Reeve Nichols presiding.
59_8_1 Loved by Councillors Smith and Trull that minutes of four
previous meetings be adopted as read.
59_8_2 Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that G. R. Rickard
and A. E. Thompson be a committee to arrange for the building of a
work-shop garage for the Township Road Dept. with authority to have
plans and estimates prepared.
59-8-3 Moved by Councillor Trull and Deputy Reeve Rickard that
General Accounts, in the amount of $9,161.95, be passed as presented.
59-8-24- Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that Relief Accounts¢
in the amount of 81,147.54, be passed as presented..
59-8-5 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that Road Accounts,
in the amount of $7,)59.37, be passed as presented.
A letter was received by the Courtice Fire Brigade asking
that Mr. Gerald E'stabrooks be appointed Fare Chief® Clerk was
instructed to prepare necessary By-laws etc., for the organization
of the Brigade.
59-8-6 Moved by Deputy Reeve G. B'. Rickard and Councillor A. E.
Thompson that Clerk be authorized to set up the necessary procedures
to establish a Fire Dept. for the Courtice Area.
59-8-7 Moved by Councillor A. Thompson and Deputy Reeve G. B.
Rickard that the Reeve and Clerk be, and are, hereby authorized to
sign an agreement with C. A. Meadows and Associates as submitted
by D. A. Gorrie on Sept. 3, 1959, and dated Aug. 26, 1959®
Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that
Council adjourn for ten minutes.
59-8-8 Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that T. . Stewart
and J. D. Hogarth visit the Registry Office to find out who owns
the property in the sixth concession needed for road allowance to
J. Drew farm.
Two applications for re-zoning were presented and deferred
to a joint meeting of Council and Planning Board to be held later.
59_8_9 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Trull that
Council and Planning Board hold a joint meeting to consider changes
in building regulations and by-laws on Tuesday, September 29, at
7030 P-M-

59-8-10 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Smith that Township
Solicitor be instructed to take action on behalf of the Township
under Bey-law 2111, against Robt. Cooke Lot 32, Concession 2.
59-8-11 ?Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Trull that
F. G. Smith be authorized to have fence built between Forestry Lot and
Scuaog Road.
The construction of a new work-shop for the Roads Dept®
was discussed at some length.
