Darlington Township Council met on this date to complete session
adjourned from October 1st.
59-10-3-1 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Smith that
Councillors Thompson and Trull be a committee to investigate the setting
up of a fire department.
59-10-B-2 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that the Clerk contact
County Health Unit Re: Mrs. Sayers.
59-10-B-3 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that
this Council petition the Department of Highways for payment of Interim
Subsidy.
59-10-H-4 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that the property of
Wm. Rolson, in Lot 16, Concession 5, be purchased for road improvement
at a price of $200.00, and that the Reeve and Clerk be authorized to
take the necessary steps to complete the purchase.
59-10-3'5 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that
Mr. Geo. Totten be, and is hereby engaged to prepare plans and specifications
for a new garage for the Roads Department of this Township, and to supervise
the construction of same by periodic inspection, the fee for this service
to be : 500.00, the sum of $250.00 to be payable upon the approval of
the plans by Council and the Department of Highways, and the Department of
Labor, the balance to be payable upon the a)mpleti.on of the work.
59-10-H-6 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Smith that the
Clerk ask Township Insurers to obtain a statement from the veterinary
Re Hancock Claim and investigate further.
Correspondence from Department of Lands and Forest Re:
closing road allowances and Department of Highways Re: property in
Lot 22, B'. F. Clerk was instructed to take appropriate action. Letter
from John Rogers Re: ditching referred to the Road Superintendent.

and that J. A. Hoskin be, and is hereby appointed assistant Dog Control Officer
