Darlington Township Council met in the Countil Chambers, Hampton, on
the above date, with all members present, Reeve Nichols presiding.
59-12-1 Moved by Councillors Trull and Smith that the minutes of the meeting
of November 5, and November 11, be adopted as read.
59-12-2 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Thompson that E. A. Varcoe
be, and is hereby appointed Assistant Welfare Officer on a temporary basis.
59-12-3 Moved by Councillors Thompson and Trull that the Reeve and Clerk be,
and hereby authorized to revoke the Cookson sub-division agreement dated
June 21.x, 1958, and to prepare and execute a neer agreement in place thereof
providing for the installation of necessary culverts and roads.
59-12-L gloved by Councillors Smith and Trull that Road Accounts, in the
amount of l9,599.38, be passed as presented.
59-12-5 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that General Accounts, including
Welfare, in the aniount of ,826.86, be passed as presented.
59-12-6 Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that Clerk
and Solicitor have a by-law prepared to establish a Township Fire Brigade, and
to have its members covered by Workmen' s Compensation.
59-12-7 Moved by Deputy Reeve Rickard and Councillor Trull that Clerk write to
T. R. McFwen, I. P. S., informing him that this Council has studied reports
on the Burketon School, and feels that the necessary repairs to the school..
would be too costly to be practical, and that this Council would be prepared
to issue debentures to provide for the cost of a new school building if
requested to do so.

to have plans prepared for the Council' s meeting; on December 15, 1959.
59-12-8 Moved by Councillor Trull and Deputy Reeve Rickard that tle bridge on
the third line, at lots 32-33, be temporarily repaired, and that the Road
Superintendent be advised of this motion.
59-12-9 Moved by Councillor Trull and Deputy Reeve Rickard that this Council
recommends that the Planning Board reconsider its decision as regards the
requirement of a ten-foot strip from Thos. Gladman, Lot 31, Concession 3.
Clerk was instructed to obtain an estimate of the value of the
furnace in the old ha-_l, and to check the requirements for Hydro service to
the Road buildings.
59-12-10 Moved by Councillors Smith and Trull that Municipal Planning Consultants
be, and are hereby auth>rized to make changes to the Township' s Official Plan
as suggested in the memorandum presented to Planning Board on November 26, and to
Council on December 3, 19597 4&-"D 4 �-.f4 C °< �'=�" ;
59-12-11 Moved by Councillor Thompson and Deputy Reeve Rickard that this Council
will not object to sale of Lot, D, Lamb to Knecht, provided that about 25 feet of
land on corner as shown in red on diagram is deeded to the Township.
Meeting adjourned to December 15, 1959.
